New Views, New Exhibition, New Website

For those of you who live in driving distance of Pittsburgh and have visited the new traveling exhibition, Discover the Real George Washington: New Views from Mount Vernon, let us know what you think! The exhibition will travel for the next three years, taking many of Mount Vernon’s highlighted objects, such as Washington’s dentures and the three forensic figures of Washington, around the country. More information about the exhibition and an interactive timeline of Washington’s life can be found at DiscoverGeorgeWashington.org.

Portraits in Schools

Kids holding George Washington Portrait

The response was overwhelming: thousands of schools submitted letters! Along with the portrait, schools received curriculum materials to help explore our first president’s contributions.
